On this very day, 28th April, back in 1999, the Camp Nou played host to one of the most star-spangled friendlies ever staged.
To celebrate Barcelona’s centenary year, the Catalans invited the Brazilian national team round for an exhibition match.
Although he was a Barca player at the time, Rivaldo turned out for Brazil alongside Romario, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, while the birthday boys lined up with the likes of Luis Figo, Patrick Kluivert, Phillip Cocu, Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique in the starting XI.

Strong stuff: The two competing matchday squads
The entertaining match went on to end in a 2-2 draw, with Ronaldo opening the scoring in delightful fashion.
Enrique then capitalised on a Rogerio Ceni clanger to level for Barca only for Rivaldo to thump one home to nudge the Selecao back into the lead.
However, another awkward error from goalkeeper Ceni presented the hosts with their second equaliser of the night after Cocu was left to clear up the mess…
And a thoroughly jolly lovely evening was had by all.
