Several years before he turned up at Bolton and proceeded to stink the Reebok out (leaving after one season with two league goals to his name), Jared Borgetti temporarily suspended the laws of physics to score a sublime rubber-necked header against Italy in the first round of the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan.
Twelve years on down the line and we (and, presumably, Gigi Buffon) still can’t quite work out how he pulled it off…
